When Prince & the Revolution released Parade in 1986, Scene put the Purple One on the cover and ran a glowing review of the album that called the release “Prince’s most impressive LP.”
“It has the frontal assault of memorable melodies and rhythms, and it has a wild collage of musical bits and pieces scattered through the background,” writes reviewer Brian Gomez. “Prince the producer, the orchestrator of sounds, has taken an army of musicians in tow and crafted an even better tale than his sterling all-solo efforts.”
Just today (which would’ve been the late Prince’s birthday), CLE Clothing Co. has released a T-shirt with the Scene cover featuring Prince on it. It’s available at cleclothingco.com. Last month, CLE Clothing Co./Scene collaborated on a David Bowie shirt.
The Bowie shirt and now the Prince shirt are part of a series of T-shirts that will come out leading out to the Rock Hall Inductions. Expect a new shirt announcement in July.
